Puggle designer dog

Puggle

Puggle is a small designer dog breed made by crossing Pug and Beagle. This Pug-Beagle mix breed is also known as Bug, Buggle or Peagle. There are many types, variations (F1/F1b/F2/F2b/F3) and sizes (standard/toy) of Puggles. The best way to forecast the personality of your designer breed puppy is to look at the parents, their breed characteristics and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either parent’s breed type.

Puggle Size. How big is the Puggle?

Most Puggles are 13 to 15 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh 18 to 30 pounds.

What is a toy Puggle? How big is a toy Puggle?

F1 generation Puggles or Purebred Beagles are bred with smaller Pugs or sometimes toy poodles to make the smaller sized toy Puggle. Toy-size Puggles are usually less than 13 inches tall and weigh 8 to 17 pounds. Toy puggles with a poodle parent may shed less.

Puggle Temperament

Puggle is a smart dog with lots of energy indoors. They may bark a bit too much at times. Some Puggles may howl like a Beagle. If bred from parents of sound temperament and adequately socialized in puppyhood, the Puggle is likely to be a confident, loving, playful companion. Hybrids of all generations are friendly with everyone including strangers and kids.
